The Spirit of the Living God is pouring out inspiration on modern day
psalmists to write and sing about the River of Life.
Let the River
flow... because the River of Life sets my feet a dancing...come to the
River of Life, you will find healing....there is a River Whose streams
make glad the city of God...draw near and drink of the mercy of Jesus
Christ at the River of Life.
LET THE RIVER FLOW!
John saw it..."And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as
crystal, proceeding from the throne of God, and of the Lamb."
(Revelation 22:1) Ezekiel saw it...."Then he brought me back to the
door of the temple; and there was water, flowing from under the
threshold of the temple..." (Ezekiel 47:1) Isaiah saw Him..."A man
(Hebrew word used here is 'Ish' or 'husband') will be as a hiding place
from the wind, and a cover from the tempest, as rivers of water in a dry
place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land." (Isaiah 32:2)
Jesus Himself declared this River to be none other than the third Person
of the Godhead, Holy Spirit..."If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and
drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his
heart will flow rivers of living water." (John 7:37, 38)
In his book, The 2nd Flood, Pastor John Stevenson refers to revelation
that our Lord gave him regarding Ezekiel's vision. He explains that
when we come together as worshipers, it is important to allow the
streams of His life to flow through each of us as individuals, and allow
them to flow together. When these streams come together, the presence
of God comes first as a trickle under the threshold. When it remains
unrestricted, it rises to ankle deep, then knee deep, thigh deep, and
on up until it sweeps us away! We become channels of His presence and
blessing to others.
The River symbolizes the blessings of God. But let us not become
sidetracked and led to seek the blessings rather than The Blessing
Himself. Let us be the generation known as those who seek His face, not
His hand.
We celebrate the renewing presence of Holy Spirit as we raise this
Majestic Standard that exalts our Lord as the River of Life. It is
hand-painted silk chiffon, two overlapping 45" widths gathered on 48"
poles, approximately 15 feet long. Protective nylon carrying sleeve
included.
Many scriptures refer to our
Lord in the context of water. Renewal songs about the River of
Life continue to wind their way into our hearts. It is important
in the midst of celebrating the River of Life that we remember the
River is not a thing from our Lord but the River IS our Lord, the
Holy Spirit.
If any man thirst, let him
come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture
hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (John
7:37,38)
