While on our way to a conference at All
Nations Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, we passed through an area
known as "King's Mountain". We had been enjoying an especially
strong presence of our Lord in the car as we worshiped along our journey
with tapes.
He had been conversing with us regarding Wings of Worship
ministry when we entered the area of King's Mountain on the highway. The
countryside truly reflected His glory as flowers of deep purple and
white blanketed the median.
While at this
spiritual and natural "high place", our Father revealed a new
intercessory flag to us. He showed us a flag that resembled the national
flag of Ireland. While the national flag has three equal vertical
stripes of green, white and orange, the vision of the worship flag that
came forth was one with the green and orange set on the diagonal with a
narrow white stripe between the green and orange. The white stripe was
broken in the center with a splash of red.
At first we thought He was calling forth a flag to intercede for the
reconciliation of His Protestant and Catholic children. That was only
partially correct. He began to speak to our hearts the scripture from
Psalm 133, "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to
dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head,
running down on the beard, the beard of Aaron, running down on the edge
of his garments; it is like the dew of Hermon, descending upon the
mountains of Zion; for there the LORD commanded the blessing --- life
forevermore."
He spoke to our hearts that the historic difficulties in Ireland are
representative of the family feuds that are occurring throughout the
entire Body of Christ. Denomination against denomination, brother
against brother, racial prejudices...all bringing grief to our Father's
heart. As earthly parents, we hurt when our own children are divided by
misunderstanding, jealousy, criticism, resentment and hatred.
Our Father spoke to us, "I desire to change the shape of things
as you have known them. I am rearranging the direction and narrowing the
gap to bring reconciliation to My family. The Blood of My Son will break
through the barriers and will heal the division in families.
communities, nations, and denominations. Differences will remain...I
created "different". Division must not remain within My
family. A house divided against itself will not stand in these
times...You must accept your differences but apply the Blood of
reconciliation to those relationships that I desire to be restored for
the sake of the gospel. I will know You are Mine, true followers of My
Son, by your love for one another."
Everlasting Father, forgive us for acting like selfish children. Cause
us to know the depth of Your love for us, Your grace and mercy, and that
You honestly do not have favorites. Baptize us in Your unconditional
love so that we might dwell, lodge, reside together on this earth in
such as way that would cause You to dance and sing over us in parental
pride and joy!
